Might I ask what you are using to measure the 50Hz DQ ?

Aha, so that's not a measurement actually at the point of use then.Daniel Quinn wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 5:36 pm That's the national grids info, not mine.

How far are you away from where the actual measurement was taken, and how many sub stations and transformers are in the line ?

There synchronised. That measurement is the same throughout the grid.
Re: Longdog PSU with Lenco GL75
Right, so we can say that there is definitely a variation on the 50Hz frequency in normal circumstances.

The variation is always less than 5%, frequently much lower as I have proven.

"Always" is a very precise word, and I doubt if that really applies here.Daniel Quinn wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 6:28 pm The variation is always less than 5%, frequently much lower as I have proven.
Had you said "usually", "mainly" or "normally" I would have (maybe) agreed with you.
Seems the National Grid strive to maintain 50Hz to +/- 1%, so your figure of 5% is well outside that.
So, whatever the figures may, or may not be, it does not alter the fact that varying 50Hz does affect DD record decks (like 401 and Lenco) and that the Longdog power supply negates that effect.
I've actually heard one so I have first hand experience.

Yep it's 1% not 5% my mistake. Fluctuation outside very narrow parameters causes death of electrical appliances. So you would be aware of fluctuation.
