I'm no expert on the ER, but from what I have read and seen online it does the same thing as your product. It does have a switch built in, four ports I think on one side. As the data moves through the ER, some wizardry appears to remove all data jitter resulting in better quality audio. Apparently. They call it a 'digital moat'; presumably this moat is full of clockadiles which munch on errant data packets.

They've sold over 6000 so far apparently, with good owner feedback. If you have the time and/or interest then lots of threads here with more information: https://audiophilestyle.com/forums/foru ... sponsored/

I was thinking about getting a couple to put before my End Points, but I've read some contrary views about how ethernet jitter is managed by buffers and isn't an issue in reality so the jury is still out.

For less money than that you could have a fibre optic cabling network set-up in your home.
Fibre optics are 100% guaranteed not to have any electrical interference on the signal whatsoever!
So instead of fixing a problem with the Eno for £500+ you could not have the problem in the first place for about £300.

And it would be interesting to open up the Eno filter to see exactly what's inside and whether a DIY equivalent could be made for 1% of the cost. With it being a passive filter it could just be a magnetic ring around an internal cable.

I'm smelling a huge amount of bullshit here. And a large amount of blinkered thinking.
Lots of Optical options for audio now I see. Sonore seem to largely favour optical as a data transit approach.

The ER and ENO perform similar functions, the later being a far simpler and unobtrusive design. It is easy to be put off by the appearance of the ENO, but I was imediately taken aback by the effect it has. I regard it as a major component and not an add on accessory. The component parts are not cheap, as a comparison you only have to look at what Audio Quest charge for silver wireing.

I've become a bit cynical in my thinking about all the add-on / add-in filters / clocks, jitter busters etc. That's not to knock anyone's experience and opinion, but I do wonder how so many very expensive streamers and dacs could have been 'broken' until the addition of another 'magic box'. It's beginning to look like a Russ Andrews catalogue

Secondly, I'm not sure I can be done with having a collection of small boxes with connecting cables in addition to a streamer and dac.

Jitter is an audible problem for digital hifi. My opinion at the moment is that relatively cheap/simple components can sound great with good quality cables utilising proper RF shielding. Clean power supplies are important too - everything that reduces the 'noise'around the signal chain.

If you were starting from scratch, aiming for the best sq but with minimal box count, what would you buy?

It's more about the journey than the destination. At least, that's what I kid myself every time I look at the ubiquitous "box of bits".

I can't think of any convincing reason why anyone should spend $1000+ on a Sonore optical solution instead of getting a used switch with SFP or SFP+ ports, plus the required number and type of fibre SFP / SFP+ modules and Fibre NIC's, plus the fibre optic cables for a total of about £300.
