Re: Coronavirus restrictions: are they legal
Nothing unusual. When I was young I was stopped by the police twice, once on suspicion of being in possession of drugs the other time on suspicion of burglary.

Nice paraphrasing of an absolute classic, Paul.
I think my favourite charge was "walking in a loud shirt in a built-up area during the hours of darkness." Probably because the description fit me so well at the time.

Re: Coronavirus restrictions: are they legal
I know this video is a few years old, and it's based on American law. But it appears that the young man in the BBC report was merely exercising his right not to talk to the police.

I agree with this guy.
Covid legislation in the UK has been ultra vires. The UK Government setting laws above and beyond it's powers.
This table by the same author is interesting:

Re: Coronavirus restrictions: are they legal
And here's a prime example of Covid legislation being abused by the Police
It would be abundantly obvious to any reasonable person that these 2 Youtubers, filming in public in front of HMP Lincoln are acting in a totally legal manner and should therefore be allowed to go about their business without hinderance.
What happens instead is that the officers pin a totally bogus charge on these 2 guys as a way to intimidate and assert their authority on them.

Re: Coronavirus restrictions: are they legal
The world looks in envy at the UK as the Pubs there open again.
The current restrictions here have been extended for another week and no cafes or bars will be open before 28 April at the earliest.
Vaccinations are also running here at an appallingly slow rate, my wife got her jab (Pfizer) last week in a huge sports hall with 10 vaccination lanes - of which only 2 were in use, the staff complaining that there is still a major shortage of vaccine doses and bored stiff with hardly anything to do.
These centres in The Netherlands are all running at less than 10% capacity, I hope that the government gets its finger out ASAP.
At these rates I will hopefully be due for my shot in about a month.

Re: Coronavirus restrictions: are they legal
When did this country become so ignorant that its citizens could be so quickly convinced that the apogee of human liberation is regaining the option to walk past Wetherspoons and go to a proper pub full of selfish pricks not wearing masks once more?
