For my vintage clothing business, we signed up to IOSS from 1st July and we've been collecting VAT on orders under 150 euros, at checkout, on behalf of the customer. We then make a monthly remittance to the tax authority in the EU (our IOSS intermediary is based in Sweden).

The above should mean that the parcels clear customs much faster and the customer doesn't need to pay any other taxes / charges prior to delivery. However, we've had 4 cases where the customer has been charged VAT twice - on 2 occasions the local delivery agent cocked it up, on 2 occasions the local customs office were incompetent or deliberately obstructive.

I used to be able to have a parcel delivered next day guaranteed in Paris for £22. Or £14 for 3 day delivery. Now we pay £55 for 1-3 day delivery or £26 for 5-7 day delivery (but often it is 10-14 days).

Someone is making plenty out of Brexit, but it's not the seller or the buyer.

Perhaps less serious compared to what is happening to bussinesas, we are not having our rubbish collected, can't always get what we want at the local supermarket and two pubs I have been to have run out of the beer I have been drinking. Shortage of delivery idrivers is blamed for all. The pingdemic is a good excuse for the Brexit shambles.

The pingdemic (and the pandemic) has also been part of the problem - drivers self-isolating, a backlog of tests, drivers taking early retirement.

Around 20,000 European drivers down on pre Brexit numbers.

On a more positive note, Brexit-loving c*nt-and-a-half Tim Martin is running out of beer. Oh, calamity! What will punters use to make their feet stick to Wetherspoons' floors now?

Yes, I did have a chuckle about him calling for a relaxation to the immigration rules.

It's cheap and at Chepstow it is convenient because it is on the way from the train station to the racecourse. :lol: :guiness;
