Re: Your last listen
I went with 'Heroes', better songs I think and stronger album than 'Low' but probably not as influential. Production up a notch too. Towards the end of the 70's recording technology was reaching its peak.ArloFlynn wrote: ↑Wed Nov 10, 2021 11:29 pmYou could always continue on the trilogy with Heroes and Lodger. Or full reverse from the Station with Young Americans and DD.Toontrev wrote: ↑Wed Nov 10, 2021 4:34 pm Having a bit of a David Bowie week myself. Wonder if its got anything to do with the dark evenings as his music does seem to suit the mood.
Todays choice is 'Low', probably one of his best and most influential. Incredible to think the guy recorded 11 studio albums during the 70's plus collaborations with Iggy and Lou Reed. No wonder he needed all that coke.
Not sure what to choose for tomorrow, I've done Station to Station and Scary Monsters
so far.
Watched documentary on 'Steely Dan', those guys were truly obsessives when it came to recording, I don't think we see that these days.

Re: Your last listen
I'm in a Black Sabbath mood. When we were early 20's we used to have Sabbath nights round somebody's house after the pub chucked us out. Proper head banging and falling over pissed. Usually woke up early afternoon and couldn't move our heads
My kids will like Sabbath
Paranoid (album) up first
