Having a good clear out
No this isn't about Savvy's recent bowel movements
Space attracts the crap of life. I've got LOADS of space (not bragging). I have huge amounts of shite that has accumulated over the years. In true Yorkshire farming style we hang on to everything saying it will come in one day. We'll I have had enough. Usually we just dig a big hole and bury the fucker. But I don't believe in such nonsense so I have hired a skip. Yes I am paying somebody else to go bury it in a hole
But the thing is getting rid of shite is quite liberating. Yeah it feels good. I feel like mummy bird that is getting rid of all the shit in the nest. Of course no wood is going cos most of it might come in handy and the metal is worth money.
Feeling good today

Brings back memories of when we down sized six years ago. The dump was near by and I would load the car and make countless trips. On the hifi front I ripped my extensive CD collection and sold them.

Ordering your life feels good. I have put quite a bit of stuff on twitface marketplace for free. Not many takers so far. You can't even give away a LP12 these days

Re: Having a good clear out
We've filled three skips since Covid reared it's ugly head, and I must agree it feels good to make some space - almost like getting rid of a millstone around our necks!

Re: Having a good clear out
Everything I own (with the exception of the hifi, records, computer and 2 guitars) is in 2 wardrobes and a bedside cabinet. I have never seen the point in hoarding.
If I need it, I buy it. If it’s not been used for a while it gets binned.
If only Mrs S had the same attitude…..

Re: Having a good clear out
My problem is space attracts crap and I've got space.
I filled a maxi skip this afternoon. Will be getting another. Also I need to take a trip to the scrap yard. I can probably fill a 12 ton trailer with metal I'll never use. Not sure what scrap prices are af the mo. J remember my dad telling me he paid for his honeymoon by weighing all the scrap in.
