What intellectual property is their in a speaker?
I’ll give you a clue . How many speaker manufacturers have patents?
Construction knowledge of what drivers to use, what crossover will what values ain’t intellectual property.
We've spent around 2 years working with manufacturers to get our own bass driver that is specifically designed to work with just a capacitor. I attach a value to that time and effort (and expense).
The original doped drivers, we inherited. Anyone can buy them off the internet and dope them, themselves.

When it comes to speakers I'd attach little value to someone else's design work.
It's a bloody speaker. It's not a Saturn V moon rocket.
We've already heard how it can be a rocky road to getting a loudspeaker design working properly, so attaching little value to that work seems very dismissive, be they commercial or DIY designs.
Perhaps, when (or if) Lindsay gets going with his own loudspeaker project he will appreciate how much work goes into them.
I have no idea how Lindsay earned his living but I wonder how he would feel if people were so dismissive of his trade, profession or vocation ?

Bass Drivers with no crossover not even a capacitor are to be found. Eg epos
Bass drivers with or without crossovers would be a good start.
A start that so many modern commercial speakers don't make. With their stupid little 5 to 7 inchers.

I understand that the law may not attach a value to that work. But. I wasn't thinking about the law.
My point / question is what value someone might attach to that work when purchasing in kit form.

I don't think of speaker design as rocket science, either, but I do place a value on skilled implementation.
On a lighter note, it's useful that when Tomasz and I are thinking of kits as a way of making a lower price entry point for NVA, to be reminded that there would be no value in such stupidity. A lucky escape.
