Out of curiosity I got a carbon-fibre stylus brush from Amazon:
Very tiny little brush but it seems to work excellently, getting all the dust and gunk off the stylus and cantilever.

Re: Logic DM101 - a new beginning
It will get dust off. To get 'gunk' off you will need something else.
However, assuming your stylus is already clean, and that you clean / keep your records clean, this will be all you need for 99% of the time.

Re: Logic DM101 - a new beginning
In the ever-ongoing search for audio nirvana we have now arrived at Hudson Hifi from New York.
The acrylic Winyl W-Mat made such a difference on the Logic deck that I thought I would get another for the ProJect Debut. On Amazon I came across the 'Hudson OrangeLit' at a low price and decided to give it a try.
So it has arrived and it's time for a comparison. The Hudson mat (available in a range of colours) is transparent and pretty well exactly the same thickness (3mm) and weight (300g) as the W-mat. Not knowing what to expect I have done an A/B comparison and heard 'clear' differences.
The Hudson gives a more immediate sound with an extra dose of top-end detail. Luckily without being over-bright or edgy. Tighter deeper bass. A more 3D experience with a better-integrated soundfield.
The W-Mat is heading for the ProJect TT and the Hudson is staying right here! For an outlay of 20 euros my DM101 sounds about 1000 euros more expensive. And it looks pretty cool too.
A clear winner!

Re: Logic DM101 - a new beginning
I love Amazon. You need something, they have it cheap and it arrives the next day.
Record pucks: experimentation had revealed that a slightly heavier LP weight could be sonically beneficial to the Logic - but the low lid meant there wasn't much height available for a large puck.
A search on Amazon soon found a 2.5cm high weight in chic-black at an advantageous price. Ordered.
The puck I have been using (bottom right on photo) is 180g and the new one (on spindle) is 250g. And I am hearing a difference with the soundfield becoming more loose from the speakers with a tighter, airier definition of instruments.
And I have something new to try on the Project deck as well.....

Re: Logic DM101 - a new beginning
I’ve played about with record stabilisers / weight for a while and I’ve concluded it’s turntable dependant, here it’s on only 1 of my decks- I find it helps with speed stability which has, imo, a greater effect on sound quality as opposed to just ‘a weight’ adding sound improvement

Re: Logic DM101 - a new beginning
My manic LP-buying frenzy over the last 18 months had led to a section of the sitting-room being overrrun by a growing tide of album-stacks in which I could never find anything. So I have got a couple of storage units and have tidied the place up a bit.
Next step - sorting them all out into some kind of organised collection.
