Acoustically transparent cloth - we don't detect any change to the sound (compared to 'naked'). The big difference with the new Cubes is the drivers...
Just out of interest, will driver upgrades be available at some point for older Cubes, Cubette’s etc? I have a pair of Mk2 Cubette’s and they work superbly in a smaller room set-up that has always given bass response issues - until the Cubette’s came along….
At the moment, we will only be making the Cube 1 size. The new drivers require a larger opening - original cabinets would have to be re-machined to accommodate. Could be a risky / tricky task. I'll know more when I've spoken with the case maker.

This is some time before a website / Facebook announcement...but giving you guys a heads-up about a couple of things that are happening, in case you can use the info to your advantage.

Firstly, we are on the verge of VAT registration.
In combination with cost increases to most of the parts we use, this will lead to price increases on most items (but not the new integrated amp, which has VAT factored in, already). If you want an amp, phonostage, cables, or BMU at the current price, now is the time.

Secondly, we will be introducing a new SA pre, plus matching (stereo and mono) power amps in the same wide-case satin-matt finish as the new integrated amp. We are expecting these to be on sale from October (and debuted at the UK Audio Show in Daventry)

When the new pre and power amps are introduced, the S150 / S300 / M300 / M600 will be discontinued. The current P50 pre-amp (including the SA option), S80, AP10P/H and P1 will continue to be available. A new 2-box phono stage in satin-matt cases will come along, early next year. The current P2 will remain until then.

Specs / expected pricing of the new pre / power amp range, available October:

Pre

P1000SA – satin-matt case, same width and depth as P50 but taller (to match height of power amp cases), 34 step attenuator, pure silver wiring £2000

Stereo Power

S400 – satin-matt wide case, twin supply, total 400va £2800

Mono Power

M800 – satin-matt wide case, twin supply per channel, total 800va £4800

Trade-in offers will be available on all brands of amplifier.

What sort of pot is the new 34 step one?

Not just, anyone, surely?

It's a spectacularly transparent pot, but more details will have to wait until launch time - patience, Grasshopper ;)

We just wanted to give you a taste of what is planned.

I will be on holiday from this Friday 15th July, returning on Monday 1st August. During that time, you can still place orders via the website (a colleague at the Durham office will take care of shipping) but email responses to enquiries may be delayed / deferred. I'll probably log into the forum every 3 or 4 days, so the same caveats apply to PMs.

While I'm away, here are a few teaser photos of the new integrated amp (these won't be the photos that we use on the website, they were just an 'artistic' experiment that went slightly wrong, lol).
