In summary there's sod all detailed info, the base/arm board appears to be solid with the motor suspended by springs and that's as much as I can glean. What the base was made from is anyone's guess.

Could be high-density MDF as that is what was used for Cubes at the time.
Plinth of my Logic deck is made of that as well.

It's two hours up the M6 from me in the industrial waste lands of the north west. Can't blame the guy for testing the water with a high starting price because in these crazy times you never know. My gut feel is it's worth circa £300 to an NVA fan. A new bespoke lid is over a £100 and who knows what the cost of fixing the intermittent fault will cost ?
