I've just finished listening to this Gregorian Chant, and put on some Monteverdi (Quarto Libro dei madrigali - The Consorte of Musicke on L'oiseau-Lyre.
Very satisfying, too

Re: Your last listen
Jefferson Airplane 'Bless Its Pointed Little Head' (1969)
I have looked at the Jefferson Airplane LP's before but never got around to actually hearing them (with the exception of 'Surrealistic Pillow') so it is a major surprise for me to discover how incredibly good their output is/was. The cover of the live compilation 'Bless Its Pointed Little Head' shows bassist Jack Cassady passed out on a table being prepared for a party - always found this weirdly sombre and offputtting. However this is a cracking selection of raw live cuts from the mighty Airplane at the peak of their abilities.
All of the band are playing their hearts out here and the recording is full of vital energy. Do yourself a favour and have a listen!

Re: Your last listen
Jefferson Starship
'Modern Times' (1981)
'Nuclear Furniture' (1984)
The Completist-Record-Collector in me has been activated and I am tracking down as much Jefferson Airplane / Jefferson Starship / Starship material as I can find. I do have a soft spot for the big Arena Rock of the 1980's (Foreigner, Heart, Journey) and Jefferson Starship fit right in there. Vaguely remember having (briefly) a copy of 'Nuclear Furniture' back then, one I certainly had was the bouncy 'Freedom at Point Zero' where Grace Slick had been kicked out for alcohol-excess. Although she was back in the fold for these 2 final albums before Paul Kantner left and took the 'Jefferson' with him leaving the rest to continue as Starship.
Both 'Modern Times' and 'Nuclear Furniture' are well-nigh impossible to find on CD but used-LP copies are easy to come by; these records are both full of power-rock guitars with synths and electronic drums in true 80's fashion. As you would expect, the songs are well-constructed and vary from chart-orientated singalongs to heavy anti-establishment workouts.
A blast from the past - love it!

Blue Train on the Blue Note Tone Poet series
Mastered from the original analogue tapes, and 7 tracks not released on vinyl before. Plus a nice booklet.
Sounds pretty damned fine.
