Re: Your last listen
Stan Getz Plays. 180gm virgin vinyl, DMM and other marketing rubbish. Tenor sax very forward. In the room. The other three much further back and the piano a bit wobbly in places (the recording dates from 1952). But you really get to hear Stan play and the subtleties of the sound he gets out of the sax as he pushes it or gives it more air.
Then
Joe Bonamassa 'Dust Bowl'. Vinyl without any fancy marketing tags but substantial and quiet. (Guess who's been to Jumbo Records in Leeds today.) I've pretty much been avoiding Joe for some time (can't really say why) and regretted it pretty much as the needle hit the first groove. Fortunately, there's a fair amount of catching up to do.

Lenny Valentino. Polish psychedelic/dream/noise rock - or however you classify it - band. One of the best things I've found recently, the whole album is a journey.
