Seems to preserve all your installed programs and settings. Faster than the W7 Starter edition that I had on here before.
Looks nice and stylish too.

New browser 'Edge' isn't as fast as Chrome.

Re: Windows 10 - best thing since you know what, or total pa
Windows 10 is a massive upgrade and at last a half decent distro. I'd upgrade without hesitation.
I'm a Mac user but from time to time with technical projects I need Windows, I've upgraded my bootcamp and Parallels to Windows 10 and it's good. The Edge browser in my opinion is still very much in development, it's quick at certain things but unstable in many. Chrome is a good browser but be careful with plugins and on the Mac it's borderline unusable at the moment, however this is going to be resolved soon. More recently on both my Mac and iPhone I've been using Opera and it's very good.

Win 10 is supposed to be better so go for it. Then let us know if it fucks up Martin T is very enthusiastic if that is a recommendation.

I am pretty happy with W10 - but there are system updates coming through every couple of days, so they are obviously still working on it.
If you do hit the 'install' button then be prepared for at least a 2-hour wait before it finishes and your computer is useable again.
Now I need to upgrade to a better Windows Phone, mine won't get the W10 download.

I have seen it all before, let the first mugs be the Guineapigs. I still feel I should have stuck to Windows 95, Luddite that I am.

No it's actually a very good release.
I was on the beta program and the first release is more like V10, I strongly recommend upgrading to it but as with all upgrades just make sure you backup your machine before hand. Although I recommend people doing that on a regular basis anyway and there is no excuse these days with cloud storage being so cheap.
