Two of the hottest summers I can remember 75 and 76.

I spent the summer playing cricket and skiving off work. Had my two Leicester 2nds games that year, and some local MCC and Leics Gents games. The wickets were bad as the hosepipe ban also applied to club cricket squares. Ours was like a beach. BTW I was 29 and was coming up to the horrible FFS I am 30 paranoia the next year.

My other memory was driving along the M1 with continuous fires on the roadside every mile or so. It was blamed on people throwing fag ends out their windows as the grass was so dry.

My first was The Rolling Stones 1965 at the Empire Edmonton, I couldn't hear a bloody thing for all the girls screaming.
