Agree. It's just that business sees the cliff edge as being a lot closer than the politicians / commissioners seem to.

That is because they have to plan. I don't see the problem, just have two plans, instate when we either fall off the cliff or hang on.

No intention to suggest they have already made up their minds - only that it is getting close to the time when such decisions will need to be taken.

Yes, some businesses will overstate the urgency in order to try to influence the content of the deal.

At some point, soon, May will have to tell the nation what is possible.

At some point in any negotiation you have to tell the other side what you will settle for...
