RD are you able to tell me what the black round disk is, it is wired into a ceramic connector block with live wires going in and out on the left side of the picture, thanks

You are the only person at the moment who is capable of any definitive opinions

Questions
1/ which one is better on it own
2/ is it better with both
3/ if so which way around is better

The only black disc I see looks like rubber, probably to damp vibration.

uhm not quite. :)
From the original post:

As I said at the start, mains quality can make SUCH a massive difference to how good your hifi sounds. If you have excellent mains quality already in your home..you may not get as much milage out of it as I did, but in my case it's (yes, here it comes...) night and day.
Interstingly enough, there was a debate about balanced mains vs mains regeneration?
I have heard an Power Inspired AG500 mains regen unit in my system before the balanced mains was put in and yes, the Ag500 improved the sound. It was subtle though, unlike balanced mains which was immediate, obvious and made me grin like a loon.

I've geard both in my system, but not together.
Seperately the Ag500 did about 10% or what the balanced mains does.

If you put the AG500/AG1500 in first, wouldn't that be a bottleneck of sorts?
Why have a 2KVA BPS or higher..the most it can receive is 500/1500KVA...

Not done it (cant now I'm hardwired) but I'd have had BPS > AG1500 > junction box > hardwired to kit.
Spose you could open up the AG1500 and hardwire one of the sockets, but that'd void the warranty.

For the 10% I heard, it wouldnt be worth introdicing a cable break/fuse into the chain.

In the picture you can see two brown terminal blocks, to the left of those is a ceramic cream/white block, out of that is a block disc, the picture isn't very clear, the black disc is about the size of a two pence piece.

But surely Gaz as RD said the AG500 is only a flavour of the AG1500, and running the AG1500 with a BPS a long side is even better still

Never heard the AG500
As RD says I should really spend some more time on me system and see which sounds best in isolation Regen or BPS and if together which way round sounds best
