Email received today - same old self seeking feckin' nonsense. They claim to be doing it for us but in reality it is ALL about me me me.

Dear Mr Dunn ,

Thank you for contacting the BMA regarding the planned industrial action in England. We do appreciate you contacting us about your views.

Going ahead with further industrial action was not an easy decision to make. Despite our efforts to work with the Secretary of State to resolve this dispute, the Government has left us with no other option. We want to resolve this dispute through talks, but in forcing through a contract that junior doctors have rejected and which they don’t believe is good for their patients or themselves, the Government has left them with no other choice.

The BMA had made progress during earlier talks with the Government and we are now calling on them to lift the imposition and restart meaningful talks with us so that we can agree a contract that is adequately funded, fit for purpose, delivers for patients and has the confidence of doctors.

Following discussions with NHS England, the BMA has taken the decision to suspend the industrial action planned for September. While the BMA provided more than the required notice, we have taken this decision to ensure the NHS has the necessary time to prepare and to put in place contingency plans to protect patient safety.

You can read the full statement here: https://www.bma.org.uk/collective-voice ... gotiations

If you’d like to read more about the situation facing junior doctors you can visit: http://oneprofession.bma.org.uk/

You can also voice your concerns about the junior doctors’ situation by contacting your local MP. To find who your local MP is and how to contact them please visit: http://www.parliament.uk/mps-lords-and-offices/mps/

Thank you again for sharing your views with us.

Kind regards and best wishes

It is always the same. To get public support they are of course doing it for us  just like the Southern Railway strike it is all for them but they need to :bulls1: us with :Bllocks: It is just a continuation of one of the biggest disease that faces us and always conceals truth - marketing. In the public services they call it Public Relations but it is just marketing under another name.

They had this at the end of the email.

The BMA is the voice of doctors and medical students in the UK.

We are an apolitical professional association and independent trade union, representing doctors and medical students from all branches of medicine across the UK and supporting them to deliver the highest standards of patient care

Shall we take away the marketing and give it some truth.

The BMA is the voice of doctors and medical students in the UK.

We are a political professional association and independent trade union, representing doctors and medical students from all branches of medicine across the UK and supporting them to deliver to them the highest standards of wages and conditions for the minimum amount of work they can get away with.

Which is the ONLY reason for the existence of a union.

Truth is Doc employers treat their workforce like shit.
And the bigger the company the more they fukin despise you, yer just a necessary evil in there eyes.....Shit will always role downhill never up.
To the office dwelling management, and bean counters yer just a number, and they would fukin pedal you (pay you off) without a second thought if they thought it would save a bob or two -Whilst giving themselfs a bonus....cnuts the lot of em.
Now im not a lazy bar-steward but I won t do standing up what I can do sitting down, and I wont do sitting down, what I can do lying down.....fuk em.

I do the bare minimum, just enough not to get my arse kicked. :guiness;

Smithers Jones - The Jam...........Check it out.
(it kind of says it all)

Smithers Jones - The Jam.

Here we go again, it's Monday at last,
He's heading for the Waterloo line,
To catch the 8 a.m. fast, its usually dead on time,
Hope it isn't late, got to be there by nine.

Pin stripe suit, clean shirt and tie,
Stops off at the corner shop, to buy The Times
'Good Morning Smithers-Jones'
'How's the wife and home?'
'Did you get the car you've been looking for?'

Let me get inside you, let me take control of you,
We could have some good times,
All this worry will get you down,
I'll give you a new meaning to life - I don't think so.

Sitting on the train, you're nearly there
You're part of the production line,
You're the same as him, you're like tin-sardines,
Get out of the pack, before they peel you back.

Arrive at the office, spot on time,
The clock on the wall hasn't yet struck nine,
'Good Morning Smithers Jones'
'The boss wants to see you alone'
'I hope its the promotion you've been looking for'

Come in Smithers old boy'
'Take a seat, take the weight off your feet'
'I've some news to tell you'
'There's no longer a position for you' -
'Sorry Smithers Jones'.

Put on the kettle and make some tea
It's all a part of feeling groovie
Put on your slippers turn on the TV
It's all a part of feeling groovie
It's time to relax, now you've worked your arse off
But the only one smilin' is the sun tanned boss
Work and work and work and work till you die
There's plenty more fish in the sea to fry

Attitude - us and them - that is why the Germans and the Japanese are so much better at it.

They don't make it "us and them", it is us who can become them with skill and ability. IMO still a left over from the class wars, there is an automatic sense of conflict here in the UK. My point is that in Germany and Japan that does not happen. Neither side is innocent in this battle / war, but history means we just keep the same attitudes and just play out the same conflicts over and over again.

The French are similar to us in effect but different in motivation. In France it is cultural snobbery, and the conflict is between who thinks they are defending the principles of the Republic and the individual within the commune the most. The fact that those principles have made the country uncompetitive and semi bankrupt seem to be beyond them.

ALWAYS when change is needed there are Luddites, it is human nature.

The Junior doctors along with much of the staff are the main problem. A lot of their moans could be solved if they refused to treat petty problems turning up at A&E. Too many don't appear to know it stands for Accident And Emergency. Also a proper social care system which would be cheaper to run than keeping aged and infirm in hospital. Throwing more piles of money at it won't solve the problems.

50% of their work can be done by non doctor qualified staff, that would solve the problem as well. Nurses and practitioners can handle most problems. Senior nurses, especially specialist should be allowed to prescribe, that solves another problem. BUT the junior doctors are needed because they become REAL doctors when they get experience and grow up. Of them a large amount go and work in USA, Canada, somewhere warm and rich, private, drug companies, etc. Having USED the British system and government to get them those skills. So we need lots of the children going in to keep enough coming out for us!! Sooooo they pay their dues!!

If they REALLY were so hard done by, do you think we would have so many of them to watch and listen to and irritate us
