On a uniform 4.4% swing, the Conservatives would take as far as Newport West or so in the list of vulnerable Labour seats - that's 40. To win 50 seats you need to go as far as Bristol South which needs a 7% swing. 60 lost seats needs the Conservatives to win Worsley and Eccles South on a 7.1% swing. 70 seats requires Leeds North East on a 7.5% swing. 80 seats takes us to Bassetlaw and a 9% swing. A cautious 5% or so swing from Labour to the Conservatives seems a reasonable guesstimate, winning them Coventry North West, and 42 seats going from Labour to the Conservatives. Add in some Conservative to LibDem changes (say 10 or so) and you get Conservative majority of 80 or so, a little less than my initial prediction.

I see two large losers, UKIP and Labour. Biggest gain Lib Dem, Conservative hold their own, gains from Labour losses to Lib Dems. Sadly Nick Clegg was a better leader for the Lib Dems.

I have seen rumour of who wants to make a comeback when Labour go down the tubes in this election - Tony Blair, but for me it is time for Hilary Benn, I might even vote for Labour under his leadership.

I find Yvette Cooper to be the most impressive candidate for Labour leader...articulate, intelligent, sincere, experienced and competent. Would give TM and Sturgeon a lot to worry about...

Yvette Cooper has a habit of getting herself in knots and generally being evasive under interview. Anyway I think the Corbyn crowd will try to hang on even if Labour are wiped out. Likely the more extremist element will have a much higher percentage of MPs.

The conservatives have cleverly rebranded themselves as the May party. Look at their battle bus - apart from the blue colour one would hardly know.

This is not clever rebranding , it is cynical attempt to take the election away from policies to personalities . Elect a strong a stable labour who will spend the next 5 years making you poorer doesn't quite cut it . Ignore the policies look at me new hair cut if you can , cause you actually find me on TV telling you what my polices are , I will just go on the one show and look like a pathecthic arse of women and plonk on about women's jobs and men's jobs . Arse .

May has reacted to criticism about a presidential style by starting to say 'my team and I'. She doesn't really mean it, though.

You could be right about the Corbyn crew trying to cling on. Probably trigger another leadership challenge but this time with a direct threat of up to 100 MPs splitting from Labour to a new party (rumoured to be called 'Progress') that also looks to attract moderate Tories and Lib Dems.

Regarding your criticisms of Yvette Cooper, as Sturmbahnnfhurer May is inclined to comment when she doesn't like what she hears..."I do not recognise your description of these events" ;)

It was done before in the 90's when Labour last had an attack of extreme left lunacy, it was called the SDP. Merged with the Lib Dems, as the Dem part. So the sensible solution would be to just join that.

Personally I would be more inclined to the socialist argument if I hadn't lived through what the Unions did before when they thought they had the power to do it, I would not chance that again. How can you be a socialist when you would outlaw the unions and the TUC like I would. I hate them with a vengence for what they have done to this country in combination with their hated enemy Thatcher, they were both as bad as each other and tore the country apart. Without the unions there would have been no Thatcherism.

OK politicians are arses, but do you see a more dangerous lying and conniving arse than Len McCluskey, as I don't.

The Unions have done bugger all to the country . Most the things the unions were warning about in the 70's have come to fruition.

rapid escalation of boss pay over workers pay
de-skilling and the proliterinastion of work
loss of jobs abroad
loss of rights , longer working hours for less money
less secure work and rights within work

We now a country with nearly two million on zero hours contracts , 30% families who work are not paid enough so they get tax credits , were you have no employment protection for two years , were 90% of peoples pay as stagnated or reduced for the past 10 years , whilst the top 10% since 2008 has increased by a factor of between 400% and 1000%.{depending on sector} A country in which 10% of the population hold 52% of the wealth and earnings and yet 35% of children are growing up in poverty.

THERE IS NOT ONE SINGLE PROBLEM TODAY caused by two much union power and if the union reforms had not been brought in , I am bloody sure we would live in more fair and equal society were the NHS didn't waste a billion pounds on IT and are still running windows XP.

The problem with Britain is unfettered Management power with piss all accountability.

Sorry mate we rarely disagree but all the things you talk about are consequences of the way the unions acted in the 50 to the 80's, it all came out of the skiving attitude of the normal soldier during the war and carried on into national service and it just became applied to work. I lived through it, you didn't, all you see is the socialist propaganda. The unions destroyed Britain as a manufacturing nation, it was called the British disease by the rest of the world, now France has to a degree inherited it.

The British disease created Thatcher as a way counter it, and of course it has gone too far in the other direction, that is human nature. So now again we have the human reaction as we see with the motivated yooof and Corbyn, believe it or not that was me in the 1960s, what goes around comes around
