Preisner 'Requiem for My Friend'

Gorgeous, atmospheric work from famous Polish film-soundtrack composer.
Modern Classical music that is both moving and enchanting.

Ella & Louis - I probably have this on vinyl but it's stuck somewhere. Absolutely classic album. Ella could sing the shopping list and still raise goosebumps! One reason I bought this is that I've been listening to a lot of James Morrison recently and greatly enjoy his playful and beautifully controlled trumpet playing. Perfect for late night listening (or anytime really).

Also, Jackson C. Frank "Blues Run the Game". The only album made by this chap who was around with Paul Simon (Paul produced the album) on the UK fold scene in the mid sixties. I'd never heard of this until the Nick Harper concert the other day (over in the Live Listen thread). The album is not the greatest reproduction ever but his voice and guitar playing still shine through. The version I've got has some kitchen recordings on it and you can still hear the quality through the hiss.

And, Juana Molina 'Halo'. Ethereal Argentinian Electro-folk - but probably defies description. She's fast becoming a favourite of mine.
