Told you lot my vote wouldn't count! The Suffolk Coastal sheeple voted with their pension pots and Coffey's back with higher votes but a reduced majority over labour.

Nothing I can see will get country out of this mess. Country divided down the middle. I for one will never accept any backtracking on Brexit. To my mind compromises in effect means staying in but with no powers. Worst of both worlds. Politicians should remember over half voters want out and damn well knew what they voted for. May is an incompetent idiot devoid of personality and should go . Can't possibly win a rerun. The alternative have played the reasonable populist card but their track record is extremist socialism. Can they change their spots? At best will be back under IMF control as in 70s. I see civil unrest down the road unless something gives. Frankly with the numbers I don't think proportional representation is going to be the answer.

Only consolation SNP got a proper bashing and independence looks remote now. If Farage comes back will probably support UKIP. Only politician that talks any sense. Unfortunately remaining UKIP politicians come over as a bunch of knob heads. What sort of warped logic makes voters change from Farage to Corbyn? Does make me think a large proportion of the UK population are lacking in intellect. What I can't understand is how he got anti Brexit vote when he committed to it himself or maybe May's appearance alone turned people off. Looked like a Rabbit caught in car headlights throughout the campaign.

Brexit referendum:

Electorate: 46,501,241
Turnout 72%
Leave Vote share: 51.9% or 17,410,742 votes

Leave voters: 37.4% of total electorate.

Personally I see the election result as a part of a long-term strategy by the Tories to reverse the Brexit decision by saying "Yes, well, we tried but it isn't a very good idea after all, is it?".

Chaos can be good - it promotes change. Life goes on as usual, the sky hasn't fallen down

:epop:

Brexit - I voted in the 1st ref to be a member of the EEC, that is what I joined. Somehow they tricked me into being in the EU. I don't want that. It is not beyond the means of man to make us a semi-detached member of a Economic Union again!!! not a European Union.

Do you seriously think the Conservatives wanted this result, no way, they had their head shat on by the public who saw through it as a political trick, part of what people want to change.

Sorry this will probably go over the head of some but for others that know.

And while we watch we will see Teresa May morphing into the Vicar of Bray. Principle becomes expedience  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Vicar_of_Bray
