More than happy where I am with cable, and time is at a serious premium at the moment.

Interesting Colin, I'm a bass player. Can you tell me any more about this amp, how many watts, combo or head amp etc?

I used to own a big old 70s Ampeg tube amp (an enormous rig with a 2x15 cab and a 2x8) but I got rid as it was a killer to move around. I later went on to own Trace Elliot, Peavey and Line6 amps but never went back to tubes. It sounded great as I recall though. I like a clunky/clanky bass sound myself so was always big on dialing the bass and treble right up and dropping all the mids. Only a tube amp can do that sound properly IME.

I'd also be interested to know who you be been dealing with it it's a manufacturer and they're not playing fair.

The company I am not going to disclose.

The Amp is TUBE and semi with 1KW Class D a monster.
It is also very quiet no pops hum hiss or taxi.

I will post later the cct and 4 layer pcb details, fun to make and bloody loud phew.
The PSU is nice simply and with 250VDC and other was a shocking surprise he he and with STAR EARTHING and HUM free Doc. As it should be.

And who was it who was telling the world about TQ when Colin was still their tied up and gagged monkey.

Of course MartinT wont throw away his TQ speaker cables as they cost him *money*, and you don't get to be Martin Tory without knowing the value of money  DQs effort to try and show him some (socialist) principles will fall on deaf ears.

Colin, you can be really naive, but often a serious skill in one direction like an artist leaves you open to exploitation. It has been shown in history. Most often there are people who know how to create things and there are people who know how to exploit things, it is not often they are the same person.

I did kits back in the 90's as I was really bugged by CE and other Euro stupidity, and kits was a way around it. But discovered Class II construction and it made my life much easier. Anyway kits ended up more problem than they were worth, I spent more time repairing and rebuilding stuff that seemed to be assembled by gorillas than I would building new stuff, and getting the instructions right was a total PITA.

Some of them still come back to haunt me when people like Muccus get hold of an internal photo of one :x

And the cost for small scale production is prohibitive. And you still have to tell them.
