Yellow Magic Orchestra with their third album BGM (back ground music). Was the launch pad for the respected musician Ryuichi Sakamoto and on this record they mix their wacky pop-sensibilities with ambient and experimental flourishes.

Ymo were an act that paved the way for Asian synth-pop and had technology way ahead of what was available in Europe at the time.

The follow up album 'Technodelic' is also excellent and YMO collaborated closely with Bill Nelson of Be Bop Deluxe fame.

Sounds fine. Ryuichi Sakamoto did some recordings together with Holger Czukay from Can and David Sylvian.

It's a great album - a long-time favourite and one of those albums that I pull out now and again just to enjoy.

I'll continue as usual: Same year (1981), but gothik or post punk, I think more post punk.

1981 was a good year, full of goth/post-punk.
