AP10H + DAC
Hello.
I'm wondering if there is any posibility to fit a small DAC in AP10H box, making it even more 'handy' headphone amp with both digital and analog imputs. I know the quality is priority, I would still use the analog imput with exteral DAC and laptop as a source in most cases, but sometimes we need as compact as possible and having our favourite music around with a bit worse quality is actually better than no music at all :D Have you ever thought about making that?

Re: AP10H + DAC
OK, thanks. Thought there would be some place as AP10P and AP10X both have normal speaker outputs and X has even more sources + source selector.

If space is at a premium, you could try something like this-

Re: AP10H + DAC
Hahaha, I like that little thing. It doesnt even need to be built in, as it looks just like a random cable and takes almost no space at all. I just wonder if its worth these 240 quid, while you can get v-dac for like 180 for great vfm imo. I was rather thinking about these small pcb DACs that are very common on ebay, they are possible to mod and look like real bargains.

Re: AP10H + DAC
+1. I bought one on Ali's recommendation and it works well with my old marantz cdp.( vendor sent me a new board after i complained about the opamp being soldered straight to the board)Ali Tait wrote:I can attest that the AK4396 dac board is very good.
Having said that,i use an Epiphany Acoustics E-Dac between laptop and AP10 with Alesis studio monitors .The clinical sounding dac works well with the ap10,and only 99 quid.
PS it is very very small.
