Unread post by schwantz34 »

Hi doc, can you pls tell me what's the input impedance of the TSS mkII i have and what is its sensitivity, 1.5 volts or less?

tnx in adv

Same as all NVA amps.

:D ok, so the question is: "can you pls tell me what's the input impedance of the NVA amps and what is its sensitivity, 1.5 volts or less, or maybe more?"

thank you
;-)

Why do you want to know? then I might be able to construct a sensible answer, because as per usual specs are meaningless without context.

Because i was thinking about a diy project based on a light attenuator, and the amp and the source have to match some specs to make a good sinergy.

more precisely below some words about it:

"The simplistic design of the Lightspeed Attenuator exemplifies the concept of, "straight wire, no gain," and is true to the source. However, there are some requirements for one to consider to ensure the Lightspeed Attenuator will be compatible in your system. These include:

A high voltage output source. For digital sources greater than 2 volts output.
A source component with a low output impedance, less than 200 ohms.
An amplifier that is sensitive, 1.5 volts or better (generally 1 volt is ideal).
An amplifier that has a high input impedance, greater than 47k ohms"

It will be fine it is designed for a passive pre. The input loading is 47kohms / 470pf.

Be very interested in your progress...
Don't you start as well, stick to what is designed. LDR based pre-amps are unreliable and not as good as *good* stepped attenuators.

tnx doc, hi Jason, sounds interesting, i've heard very nice words about it from an italian guy, who built three of these, let's see ...im not good in DIY, the guy who kindly gave me all the infos is very good at it, but let's see...
ciao
