curiosity killed the cat...
well, one of my two cats walking back the amplifier touched one of of the signal cable (he even didnt plug it off just touched ) from the source to the amp and...i heard a terrible sound from the tweeter of one of my beloved royd sintra , ive plugged off immediately everything , you know what happened? one scanspeak tweeter has gone, smoked.
Is it possible that for this one tweeter is lost? What happened technically? Can you please explain to me? I dont want an encore on this event...
tnx
ciao
s.
ps: the cat is still alive

The earth broke in that cable, or in the amp socket. Most likely the first.
OR he partially disconnected the cable by treading on it as the earth breaks contact before the pos in many designs of phono plug.

hi, tnx doc i would say the latter, as the signal cable is still used to connect and ive no problem at all .Dr Bunsen Honeydew wrote:The earth broke in that cable, or in the amp socket. Most likely the first.

The ssp is a cable subjected to break of the earth more often than the less stiffer one?

Yes, it is the disadvantage of the cable as it is semi rigid. Neutrik profi plugs partially solve the problem at a price.
Cats like amplifiers as they get warm. My sadly missed old cat Pooky used to sleep on them, and sometimes in them

Not for a man with your obvious skill and ability with a soldering iron. But if you mess it up I will do it for you.

Blown twitter... it would be difficult for me to afford such a loss, as I will be using Dynaudio Esotar which are not in production anymore...
