Water cooled valve amp - WTF.

My mate (had a good dram at the time) says he saw on the great web.......
A WATER COOLED VALVE AMP.......despite trawling the web for said beastie, i have had little luck in uncovering the insurance nightmare.
Is he pulling my plonker or do such a things exist...........?

I doubt it, I don't know how they could do it, and it would be a dangerous and pointless exercise. Air space ventilation is all you need for a valve.

But im sure the inventors of the combustion engine once said the same thing - Air space ventilation is all you need...???

A PC runs off low voltage 20-30v? A valve amp runs on a couple of thousand volts, water is a conductor, a couple of thousand volts kills!!

Well VW and Porsch have done it for many years with air cooled. I say again valve amps have thousands of volts and water is a conductor.

No I think it's an oil of some kind. A good idea really, it will provide better cooling and the oil will insulate. Insulating oils are used in lots of high voltage switchgear and also HV transformers. There are others that do use water though, I've seen them.
