Unread post by slinger »

After the recent discussion in the EOTW forum of what does, and does not, constitute said curve I thought that this might be of interest to the more technically minded (yes, I'm looking at you Doc  ) amongst you.

THE RIAA CURVE WAS INVENTED BY ARSEHOLES WHO JUST DID NOT GET ON WITH THE HMV DOG......I think his name was Bob...Yes...Bob the Dog.
Anyway.....The Cnuts thought this standard would be the fukin dogs bollock's..The rest is history.

Problem is Jammy, if the man making the record takes a recording and adjusts the frequencies on it before transferring it to a record, the man playing the record needs to adjust the frequencies back as near as dammit he can the same way

Otherwise its like recording your LP with Dolby C , but not using Dolby C on playback (sort of ) ;)

What I thought was interesting about this was not necessarily the info contained in the article but the fact that Graham has filed a patent application pertaining to it.
