Dealer Poll

You can tick as many options as you want and you can change your mind later.

Well I have wasted my breath it seems on the subject. I can understand option 3 being fav, I expected that. But for people to like / want to retain dealers is bonkers

I still think a majority of people don't understand. I give you an example - if Naim decided to sell direct and sold at trade price to you (by rumour 35% down), would you buy that or go to the retailer and give him 35% more money for doing nothing but being there and selling. The answer is obvious and a no-brainer, so why can't you all see it!!!

Until all manufacturers offer direct sales they serve a purpose even if it's just to waste their time with lots of demos  There is just too few NVA type operations so far. Would agree most give biased advice or are just useless. Richer Sounds certainly serves a purpose and operates like a normal retailer unlike the high end dealers that specialise in overpriced bling.

It will eventually reach a tipping point, and only by educating the buying public will that happen.

Of course the old status quo will fight tooth and nail to keep their slurp.

I still think dealers can be useful, your kit doc is plug in and play, ok speakers are a little different but advice can be emailed or as I've seen before info given on this site. Now when it comes to computer audio things are a little bit different and speaking for myself I know bugger all about the options, driver installation ect. Also it is possible to dem different brands at home most probably using different dealers. Your system of buy it now and if you don't like return is good but if you have maybe 2 or 3 options and they were all doing this it would be a substantial outlay to hear different amplifiers.
