New Laptop for Nadia

Her laptop is just a PITA, slow unreliable and old.

She says she wants a new one and wants a smaller one like a notebook with keyboard. She uses Skype, email, and google searches and some on line purchase so it can be very simple but quick and reliable - any advice please.

That's a Chromebook (and you can get them for less than that - I got mine for around a ton second hand). It's fine if you want to do the basics - eMail, web browsing, simple documents and spreadsheets - but it isn't a PC. To see if it fits, put Chrome on a PC (on that old laptop) and get Nadia to set up a google account (www.gmail.com) then she can log into Chrome and see what a Chromebook might be like. People get put off because is isn't a PC but they work well IMHO.

I have a Toshiba laptop and it is streets better than the laptop I had before it, so I have confidence in Toshiba.
