This shit should be fukin stamped out pronto, and it aint just Alsatian's,
many breeds are being bred for supposed de rigueur looks at the expense of health and well being.
Don't know if anyone saw the winner 2016, but the poor animal should have been taken to the vet and put down...
It was litlerally trailing its hind legs and bunny hopping - A sure sign of Hip Dysplacia.
Dog lover my arse....
If health and well-being is the prime concern they should all be mongrels like us!
All pedigrees are an abomination I'm afraid.

Dog inbreeding has long been a problem. It's more dangerous when it affects temperament. When I was young was bitten by a very unpredictable Cocker Spaniel that was the family pet. Final straw and it was put down. Breeder was apparently known for inbreeding. Sad that problems with this dog were somehow missed. Crufts are now looking pretty stupid but I doubt actual cruelty is involved on part of the owner.
Agreed that the breeders should shoulder some of the responsibility but if The Kennel Club et al didn't award prizes to mutant mutts then they wouldn't be bred that way in the first place.
It's like all that where the clothes buying-public was brainwashed into believing size zero models were not only attractive but were the size was something to aspire to, which put lots of young girls (and not so young girls) on the road to anorexia and bulimia. The demand is artificially created and the sheep(dogs?) follow.
If the demand wasn't created in the first place the problem wouldn't exist.
Sorry, got into minor rant mode there.

Well I beg to differ, the poor dog wasn't so much paraded round the ring as fukin dragged.......
The fat Bitch is more concerned about the cash than the dogs suffering.
