Grado SR225e - 'Enhanced'
Picked up my new Grado SR225e headphones this morning, an upgrade to my original model SR80's.

It will be interesting to know if you can hear a difference between the two.I still think that the pads make the largest improvement .Good listening Fret.

Re: Grado SR225e - 'Enhanced'
I agree. I changed my pads to the big open ones and it transformed my humble SR80's into much better headphones for a very modest outlay. Better sound and more comfy too. Re: Grado SR225e - 'Enhanced'
It was putting the 'high end' cushions on my SR80's that made me fall in love with them again. Available from just about any Grado stockist and an excellent, cheap sonic improvement.
The same cushions are on the 225e which I am now listening intensely to.
Sorry guys. These blow the SR80 into the dust. I'll check in tomorrow with my initial impression.

Re: Grado SR225e - 'Enhanced'
I'd be interested in the change of pads too. I picked up a 3 month old mint pair of 80SRe last week off another forum for my very occasional use. Listening to them through my Beresford Caiman MkII and they sound tremendous, perfect for my needs, but I'm always up for a cheap upgrade.

You'll be wanting these - Grado call them the 'L cushion' available from Amazon and others.

There are third-party versions, don't know if they're as good - certainly cheaper.

Re: Grado SR225e - 'Enhanced'
The ones I've got are the G-cushions:
http://www.gradolabs.com/headphones/accessories
I bought them at a local dealer in Copenhagen, where I could try all different shapes. Not the cheapest option, of course, but I was happy I as able to try them on the spot, so it was money well-spent, I believe. Some people hate them, but then... to each his own.
You can buy them very cheap from China and try them out.

Don't know about the quality. Guess it should be alright.
