I suppose that one advantage of an up firing driver in the centre of a circular shaped enclosure and stand with tweeter sphere right above it is the weight is very evenly distributed which will make it much easier to level a speaker on an inner tube. Bonus.

Just a quick one Stu: cycling coach tip!

11" inner tubes (or even smaller,) will become 12" if you keep adding air and allow a little expansion. Not too much though, or the tube will have an aneurysm (it will explosively swell at one point.) They're designed to fill the space in a hardened tyre case, so there's a fair bit of elasticity there.
I won't go in to the difference between latex and butyl rubber tubes here either!

Keep up the good work mate.

I think I might be in the HiFi trade.
I am not currently seeking treatment for this.

Top tips coach, thanks.

I inflated the little tube I have and it did inflate to 12" but the pressure to get it there is far too much for this. We need as little pressure as possible to keep the resonant frequency low. The inner tube I said was 11" is complete bollox  Having read the numbering on the tire side wall it is actually 12.5" x 2.25".

So what do I need? Next size up is a 14". Don't think 13" bike tubes are made so with the 14" I could try the smallest thickness I can find which is about 1.5".

If they are no good then the tubes will have to stay at floor level unless i can come up with a plan.

If you've got some rubber cement you can cut bigger tubes to any length (just insert one cut end inside the other) and while this is sub-optimal for riding, it will be fine for the low pressure stuff you want.
Just remember to have a valve in the section you want to use!

I won't go in to too much detail here, but feel free to DM me if you want a bit more info.

Racing tubes which are nominally 27" come in the narrowest widths (18 or 20mm) but you wouldn't want latex as it naturally leaks and would flatten over a couple of days. So in this case cheaper ones would probably be better.

Thanks again :guiness;

I thought about doing two cuts and repositioning the valve to point outwards.

Do those thin racing tubes only come in latex then?

Oh look a “band wagon”

Yep had to try it- the design of my speakers make the application of a 12” inner tube very easy- it’s different it’s positive it’s another Stu winner 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

You need to try one under your turntable as well Peter :epopc:

In fact put one under everything including the microwave, toaster and kettle
