They haven't given up. Sent me an email saying my tv licence expires tomorrow. I know it has another three months left.

Re: Scam Warning
This is an interesting video relating to scams from a couple of years back:
Check your email address here:

My wife's and my daughter's and my old email address have all been compromised.
My more recent email addresses haven't. Yet.
Nothing to panic about. Just something to be aware of.

Re: Scam Warning
The Royal Mail parcel scam seems to be doing the rounds again.
The text, claiming to be from Royal Mail arrives out of the blue and claims that "your Royal Mail parcel is awaiting delivery. Please confirm the settlement of 1.99 (GBP) on the following link".
The message then links to a website mocked up to look like an official Royal Mail site. The page requests personal and payment details, which scammers may use to steal someone's identity, or use to target them with other scams.
Royal Mail said it would not use such texts - unless specifically requested - and would use a grey card instead to tell people if any fee was required.
It warned the public about a similar email scam in February, and it appears that the fraudsters' campaign is evolving.

Re: Scam Warning
Even if you're wise enough not to fall for these scams, they are still annoying. Because of the frequency that we all get bombarded by these unwanted emails / texts / phone calls.

Re: Scam Warning
For over a year I have been getting calls from a pair claiming to beh from Sky saying I have an Internet problem and trying to ger access to my computer. Going on the accents and the bad line I think the calls could be from India. I used to tell theg to go and f*** themselves. Now I just put the phone down and let them talk to themselves for what can be some time.

Re: Scam Warning
I and others have received PMs from someone who joined WAM to sell cheap Qobuz packages. He got the boot as I am sure he will if he tries it here. Be aware.

Re: Scam Warning
State robbery from a bygone era. We should only pay for what we want to watch. If enough people refused to pay it would come to an end.

Re: Scam Warning
Places like this youtube channel go into details about TV Licences:
https://www.youtube.com/c/ChilliJonCarne/videos
If you don't watch broadcast TV, and instead watch catch-up, or internet stuff like youtube then you don't need a TV licence.
You should avoid watching BBC iplayer too, to avoid being liable for the licence fee.
So yes, you may well be in an increasingly large group of people that should not be paying for a TV licence.
