It's true ... and only 45 years late!!

Neil Young is finally preparing to release the legendary 'lost' album 'Homegrown' in 2020.

Originally recorded in 1975 as the link between 'Comes A Time' and 'Harvest', the record company instead chose to release the grittier, downbeat 'Tonight's the Night' in its' place and 'Homegrown' was lost in the mists of time. Until now...

The original master tapes have been recovered but are in a poor state and intensive work has been necessary to get them back into useable working order. NY has created a special all-analogue mastering setup specifically for this project and the old recordings are lovingly being returned to pristine quality.

Regarded at the time as an intensely personal collection of songs, this is one release that long-time NY fans have been dreaming about. Which is handy as Young is pushing forward his Archive projects to issue all of the previously-unreleased material so that his fan-base can hear it all before they die of old age.

Me? I can't wait.

"Homegrown" is a track on "American stars and bars" which is a good album. He was consistently releasing some good stuff at that time and I am also looking forward to this lost album.

That's the album of the week in the Neil Young Archives. If somebody doesn't know it, you can listen to it here for free: https://neilyoungarchives.com/album?id=A_020

Like Frank Zappa & Daevid Allen LP's, you can never have too many Neil Young LP's, as the first two have moved on a new album from Mr Young is a very welcome thing.

David Crosby says 'nobody loves Neil Young as much as himself '

That's what's wrong with his music and why it ain't for me.

I think that applies to most great talents.

IMO Neil Young is in a different league to Crosby, Zappa and Daevid Allen.

His autobiography is well worth reading.
