The BBC are a law unto themselves. In their editorial policies and in how they are funded...

If you look at the BBC website, their fixtures/results are structured like this...
Premier League
Scottish Premier League
Women's World Cup Qualifying
Championship
League One
League Two
Women's International Friendlies.
National League
The FA Trophy
Scottish Cup
Highland League
Lowland League
Welsh League Cup
Irish Premiership
followed by La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1, etc.

I'd say that was a reasonable compromise for modern football fans and sexist dinosaurs alike.
Personally, I'd have World Cup results for all sexes at the top of a results table as I consider national teams to be the most important, and to carry the greatest level of prestige.
