Thanks for all the replies.

I might give the Oehlbach Masterclock unit a try - seems reasonably priced so a low risk experiment!

Btw really impressed with the Audirvana software - good remote app, easy to install and operate and sounds really good as well. Recommended if you are looking to use a PC/Mac as a multi-source server

Must check Audirvana out. I've got Volumio on 2 PC's which sounds very fine.

I'll be interested in your conclusions. The interface looks a bit more JRiver-ish.

Already gave a link to partsconnexion.com for discount DH Labs USB cables. When I did my mini shoot-out they came out the best.
Silver Sonic sounds a touch smoother and more open than AQ Carbon (at a fraction of the price) and their Mirage cable is simply mind-blowing.

I see that Audirvana runs as a Windows program. Unlike Volumio which dedicates the PC to a single task - digital audio.

+1
DH Labs digital cables have made a significant improvement to my system.
I have read a review of Mirage sounding better than AQ Coffee which is above Carbon in the range.

I just tried on Oehlbach Masterclock in my system.......

I can hear a definite improvement however I seem to be getting some occasional jitter and noise which I wasn’t getting before?

Any ideas ?

Strange. What USB cable are you using?

I really do not like the short lead supplied with the masterclock at all.

And you could try an AQ Jitterbug in the output socket of the PC.

Another question. Is the problem just with Audirvana? Have you tried comparing with Foobar or similar?
