Cheap tweeters

Is it worth having a punt on these ? I think I might.
A pair of tweeters for £11 with free postage
. Neodymium magnet (midget), silk dome, 52 mm diameter.
What's not to like apart from the sound ? There's always the can of plastidip

Buy four (pairs) for £10.11 each . That would be all the tweeters for my speakers for £40.44

Neodymium magnets don't need to be as big for the same effect (BL). That's why they can be so small.

I am not sure if I would like to risk them if I needed just 2 ( one per speaker) as i do not believe those will be closely matched.
But in case of your "monstrosity"
that wouldn't be so important... as it will all even out
buy 2 and try ;]

Yes, I am still using the Visaton. But I will have speakers to build for my place of work with the isobaric 12 inchers once I have finished these for home. I will require another eight tweeters and not sure I want to fork out for the visaton's again. Thanks to zebbo for selling me his four for £10
. £40 is a lot easier to swallow than £400.
But they might sound terrible.

Speaker snobs are alive and well. Just take a look at what is posted on most of the hifi forums. It makes me laugh, you aren't taken seriously unless you have bought drivers over £100 each. Snobbery winds me through the roof and one of the reasons I liked Richard so much. He doped a cheap Chinese soft dome tweeter and strengthened the face plate. Said it was almost as good as the visaton.
