Missed an hour's sleep

Always takes me a few days to get over the switch from Winter to Summer Time. Getting up an hour earlier, mealtimes different, what to do in the suddenly longer evenings, having to go to bed early when you're not ready for it.

My biological clock gets well and truly scrambled.

AND it was a full moon last night - does my head in as well.

I find the extra hour of daylight in the evening uplifting and do not miss it in the morning. In contrast I find losing an hour of daylight at the end of October when we need it most depressing. Sheer madness.

Completely agree. UK should zone its time on BST. Surely Alba could introduce its own time zone for a few disgruntled farmers?

I agree. As a sports coach I see the majority of kids in this country effectively stop after-school activity for six months and school playing-fields pretty much going to waste during that time. This is just one of the ways that leaving us permanently on BST would be of benefit.

Same here, my body clock is very easily knocked out of whack. A long time ago I had a period of working nights on four 9 hour shifts out of every seven days, but it was never the same four nights. Worst case scenario, if the dickhead who did the scheduling f*cked up - and it wasn't a rarity - you could end up doing eight straight. It ended up making me ill and I had to stop doing it after 9 months.
