They were superb when Schenker rejoined in the late 90s. Went to see them again in 2000 but sadly it was not to be. Mogg and Schenker had come to blows on stage the night before and that was it.
You can't 'like' that post, there's only one thing to say in that situation - oh bugger!
Not the only time it has happened to me. I was going to see Slade the night they cancelled at very short notice to appear on Top of the pops. What was said was a bit stronger than oh bugger. :angry-screaming:

Came close to cancellations a few times with the Pogues, many times we saw him absolutely tonto'd in a nearby bar, and one time at Brixton he had to be 'helped' to the artists entrance. Somehow however he put in some blistering performances despite being rat arsed.

I was due to see The Smiths play Huddersfield Poly but thay cancelled at the last minute to do their first TOTP.

Replacement band was The Chameleons. They were great.

That to me is a result - I loved The Chameleons, saw them a few times in London.

What a bill, I can't recall exactly why I didn't go (money, or rather lack of probably), but I was gutted when my mates told me all about it the next day!

Also, same late 70's period, I also missed out on a prime Thin Lizzy gig at the Manchester Apollo. Loved that band yet never quite made it to see them live. When I think of some of the dross I've seen over the years it still galls.
It was a good gig, I saw them a few times on that tour and saw Thin Lizzy headline one of the nights of the Reading Festival back in either 75 or 76

Chic :guiness;

Listening to Good Times now. Bernard Edwards really is one of my favourite bass players. Those silky smooth funky bass lines would have me in a trance all night.

I should have added Bowie & Talking Heads to my original 3. Plenty of people around me went to Bowie gigs but I suspect I was put off by his strange appearance 🤷 Don't know anyone who caught Talking Heads and I have to confess I was not aware of MC5 prior to this thread. I've just sampled a few tracks on YouTube and whilst it's not exactly my style of music they are real deal and imagine they would have been brilliant live 👍
