Definitely a good match looks wise, and pleased it has made an improvement

Found this pic of an abused (but working!) DM101 mk1.
Thanked the Lord that mine didn't end up looking like that.

Along with the Tonar mat, I bought their Nostatic carbon fibre LP brush.

With acquiring a stack of used LPs over the last couple of months, some display signs of misuse and are verging on unlistenable.

I have noticed that several plays and regular use of a velour brush has got some records sounding quite passable. Now listening to a particularly crackly copy of TD's 'Stratosfear' and will see if a couple of cleanings with this new brush will help.

Make an ultrasonic cleaner like DQ's. Your ears, and your stylus, will thank you for it. The brush won't touch it in comparison.

Could be a project for the next lockdown.

Get a knosti record cleaner, not a huge amount of money and is usually makes completely buggered records listenable

The Knosti looks to be good and affordable - I can get the 'starter pack' for under 50 euros.

Will investigate further.

I used mine for about 10 years until i got a moth rcm last year, then passed it onto my dad

It wont work miracles, but you will be surprised what it fetches off, and some seemingly completely ruined discs will end up adequetely playable

I gave the discs plenty of turns, 50 plus, sometimes if the record was nasty
The cleaning fluid wont hurt the disc.
Get a small funnel and some coffee filters to filter the cleaning fluid, unless they changed the design of the filter, its crap. i got another bottle to filter it back into rather than putting it back in the same bottle, that way, you can use clean stuff the first few times, then once filtered, then twice and so on.

But don't use their cleaning fluid, it leaves a film on the LP, and if you do purchase any new LP's, clean them before use.
