CD player with memory

Hello,
I'm sure that a CD player(S) was advertised in a hi-fi mag some years ago that had an internal hard disk or SSD and was capable of storing loads of CDs at a decent quality digital file size. The only similar type device in my local area is a Brennon unit with speakers included, but it seems a bit small, capacity wise. An all- in-one CD player that stores the music at good high res for playback seems a good idea.
Does anyone know what the heck I'm talking about ? :guiness;

I have a Blusound Vault which does that but it isn't cheap - I think the sound is really good and I enjoy listening which is the acid test.

I think Musical Fidelity have one (although it has a built in preamp as well):

Also Nova Fidelity:

I'll lay odds it was the Brennan you're half-remembering.

I thought that the Brennan only ripped to lossy MP3 files.

The latest ones rip lossless, also contain an amplifier and include wifi and bluetooth. The trend for all in one solutions has really gained momentum.

Having flipped through a few old hi-fi+ mags, it looks like it could have been the Musical Fidelity M6 Encore 225 music system (hi-fi+ Oct 2017 £4399). Although I remember a US player advertised elsewhere...hazy memories at best. Was probably when the tech was new to the market.
The latest Brennan looks like a good thing but is not for me.

I seem to remember there being an audiolab cd player that you could plug a usb stick into that would play the files on the stick. And a yamaha that would do the same.
Wether that would fit the bill im not sure

This thing looks quite useful

Think its abit different to what the op was after though as i dont think it can rip to a usb drive
