Re: Stu
My mum's funeral yesterday. It was too bloody hot. We had a celebrant friend of mine (also a very good singer) do the service and she did a wonderful job of it. People turned up that I wasn't expecting including some ov mum's cousins from the Skipton area. There were tears and not just mine. Loads of food at the pub afterwards and I got pretty pissed although two of my sisters were worse than me - yes really.
Another thing that made me cry was my mum's two sisters who fell out when their mother died (my grandmother). They held hands as they walked in to the crematorium together and spoke at length at the pub afterwards. Absolutely made my day, so much so I couldn't stop crying. Mum did something special yesterday.
Anyway, off to Filey today where it will be 23 degrees rather than the 30 we are expecting here.

Glad it went off OK Stu.
It's lovely that you found some positives on such a challenging and difficult day.
All the best.

Re: Stu
I still find myself bursting into tears at various times, usually when I am on my own (which is most of the day). I miss my mum so much even though for the last ten years she has been away with the fairies. I will never see her cheeky face again.
I hope one day my two kids feel as much affection for me when my time comes as I did when both my parents passed. Life is all about relationships and good memories not how much money you earned or how many people you fucked over in the process.
