How long before twitter folds ?

I don't tweet at all but I've got an account and read quite a few links to tweets from various places. Seems some of the employees were sacked and most of the rest have left leaving about 1/8 of the employees still working there.

People who use it are leaving in droves. Far right wing accounts have been reinstated by the controversial new owner and even Trump's account is being reviewed.

Bonkers. Quite frankly I couldn't give a shit about what happens to it as long as the good people who used twitter to hold government and other wrongdoers to account find somewhere to get their message out.

Tried Twitter once, couldn't get my head around it and hated it. Full of ego's, idiots and people with nothing of any interest to say.

Sooner it goes - the better. :snooty:

Sounds just like certain hi-fi forums that I never post on.

I use Twatter to keep in touch with a lovely bunch of fellow Liverpool FC supporters. Some of them are as close to friends as anyone else I've only met online.

My second major reason is to connect with others of a "Socialist" leaning; useful for keeping a finger on the pulse of government treachery. I've been alerted to many things that bore further investigation by other disaffected, ex-Labour members, and left-wingers in general. It's also a great place to counter obnoxious racist, sexist, etc. right-wing lies with logical argument, or simply point out their failings to loud-mouthed politicians.

It's a great place to find humour too.

It can be a bit of a cesspit, but it has its uses and its benefits, especially to someone like me, who doesn't get out much.

You should try reading the Daily Telegraph readers comments - theres far too many little Englanders and a smattering of crazy frothing at the mouth right wing loons.

I'll probably just carry on talking to myself, mate.

There's a new kid on the block named "Mastodon" which seems to be where most of the people I interact with who've made plans are aiming to gravitate towards, and I'm already signed up there myself.
