To be fair, a good vinyl pressing sounds amazing, but one album in 10 is worth listening to on vinyl. Most of the new pressing I’ve bought have been underwhelming.
I would say that my success rate with vinyl is a little better, mainly thanks to avoiding the most compressed releases (see my post, above, about using the Dynamic Range library) but there are still far too many fails, given the price of vinyls. Noisy pressings, bumps, warped discs, spine cracks, bent corners - all far too frequent.
