Good morning all
Having drastically downsized my system, I am excitedly expecting my new INT400sa and Phono 2 next week!
I've also sold my SME V and replaced it with an Audiomods Series 6. This has freed up some funds and given me itchy feet thinking about a suitable replacement for my much loved Benz Gullwing SLR.
I do like the Benz very much, but I'm intrigued by the low output moving iron cartridges and the Soundsmith Zephyr MIMC in particular.
Anyone have any experience with these? Or possibly the Grado Statement 2 ?
Cheers.

I tried the bottom of the range soundsmith, the othello a while back, i loved the cart but the actual stylus on that one was a bit crap and i could not get it to track how i wanted it to. That one was i think a bonded elliptical.
With a stylus that is not like the end of a knitting needle and a cantilever not like a scaffolding pole i think the better ones in the range would be very good. The thing sounded alive despite the rubbish tracking.

If the Grado statement is the wood series then I’ve had a couple- mm
One standard and one from expert Stylus with ruby canti and some fancy diamond- neither stood out for me at the time of owning them- had better memories with mp200 or an Ortofon mc

I have a low output moving iron Grado Signature MCX from the 80's (MCZ stylus) which is a fantastic sounding unit.

Modern designs have refined and improved on this but, for me, Grado's are the best!
