There's something Fawlty Towersesque about the 10 German Bombers chant being sung in Germany.

With fans being what they are, if you tell them not to sing something, they're more likely to do it.

Freedom of expression. It would be - in my opinion - quite a Nazi or Stalinist thing to do to arrest someone for singing this song.

I don't think that anyone will be arrested purely for singing the song.

The question is why anyone would want to sing it in the first place.

What most of the knuckle-dragging mouth-breathers don't understand, or care about is that "freedom of speech/expression" does NOT mean you can say, or do, whatever you want without fear of reprisal, legal or otherwise.

Spain had loads of possession but ended up relying on an own goal.

Italy were probably as poor as I can remember seeing them.

Ignoring the England game(s), Spain v Italy was probably the poorest match of the competition so far, and one I was looking forward to.

The freedom of expression laws have been carefully thought out and written.

The 10 German Bombers song does not break any law on freedom of expression in the UK nor Germany.

If anyone is not happy with this situation, they can lobby their government for a change in the law.

Until then, whilst anyone is allowed to freely express their views in a legal way on this song being sung. There is no legal action that anyone can take to stop the fans singing this song.
And I personally would be against anyone taking an unlawful action to stop this song being sung.

Southgate is out of his depth and it would be in England's best interests to sack him and bring in a caretaker for the rest of the tournament. Harry Rednap springs to mind.

Eni Aluko said earlier that she'd be "shocked" if Gareth Southgate hasn't got a plan 'B'.

Quite a few of us would be shocked - after the way we've played so far - if there was even a plan 'A'.

As for replacing Gareth, only one man can take the reins at such short notice (Tuesday) and that's this fella.

If you’re inciting racial hatred the lyrics won’t matter .

British law is very draconian .

Seems to me the Germans will feel sorry for the bigots whilst progreessing to the final

And the one on the left looks much more suited to football

It's halftime for Netherlands v Poland, and the Dutch are a real letdown so far; it's like somebody has let the air out of them. There's no urgency, no energy, and although Danny Murphy is a twat, he was dead right for once when he called them "lacklustre".

They need a stern talking-to before they're let out for the second half. Come on you Oranje.
