In ear headphones

Unread post by Rick »

Fancy getting a set of in ear headphones just for when I'm out walking just listening from Spotify on the phone.

I never used to get on with them suffering from ear pain but I suspect that if from using the poor quality 'free' ones.
Currently using Sennheiser 5.00 but I'm sending them back as I ordered apple instead of android. i don't use them for conversations so seems pointless having that extra unit on the cable.

Anyway, saw these and thought they looked worth a punt. Bit more money and around the most i'd go to.

Shure SE215

Does anybody have experiance, use in ear headphones or are able to offer any advice?

Thanks

I've been happy with the 'B' version of Superlux HD-381

The various versions can be picked up for around £17.00 from eBay.

Hi Rick,

I've had a selection of earbuds through the years, including an expensive in-ear monitor from Shure which I never really liked.
At the moment I am very happy with the Sony MDR 650AP.

Image

It is a phone-compatible model with a mic in the lead. Sound is full, rich and detailed - good for all types of music. Body is machined from solid brass.
I love 'em.

Edit: unlike many other in-ears, the 650 sits really comfortably and stays put quite solidly when you are moving about.

I never liked spending a lot of money on ear buds because I either misplaced them or ran them through the washing machine eventually.

I found I liked the various offerings from Phillips the best. Modestly priced, highish output level, and very decent mid band sound quality. I always buy a new pair when the old ones bite the dust.
