Re: SCHIIT
I had the Bifrost for a couple of years. Very clean and even handed. Definitely bettered a Beresford Caiman that I had before that. Only had the digital input. The USB input was as an optional extra.
Later, when I was getting more into computer audio, I sold the Bifrost and bought an ifi iDSD Micro which is more USB orientated and also has a very decent headphone amp (the ifi may shortly be going the journey as I'm currently trialling a 2nd hand Auralic Vega).

Re: SCHIIT
Prices aren't 'quite' as good here now due to our terrible exchange rate, but this stuff is good (from friends who have the odd bit and piece). They're creeping upmarket with some of the new gear now though, so how long they'll continue with this low profit stuff is anyone's guess...

Re: SCHIIT
Not sure what you men by NOS, AFAIK, all the AK DAC's are delta-sigma. I agree they do sound good though, I used one myself in my DAC after hearing it in the Squeezbox Transporter years ago.George Hincapie wrote:Good review Fretless. Another NOS DAC then. The AKM chip seems well regarded too.

Re: SCHIIT
In the review Schiit say that they do not use any upsampling in their DAC's .
