Cats & Hi-Fi

Unread post by southall-1998 »

We have a female cat named Noodles, but we like to nickname her ''the bitch'' Because of her feisty/grumpy nature.

I got a little annoyed with her today as she went and sat on my NVA AP10PX for 10 min. I know she will do it again, again & again when she pleases

Any more hifi cat owners on here?

Not now, my Pooky is dead now for over two years, still miss him lots.

He used to sleep *in* amplifiers I was building. There is many an amp out there with a little bit of Pooky fur in it.

Just let her sit there, shane, nice warm spot and it can't do the AP10 any harm. All our cats are ex cats now, but there is no way our jack russell is sitting on mine.
Try smearing marmite on the amp,you never know, she might hate it... :o

Pooky looks lovely, sad when they go isn't it.
Worst incident I had was with one of my cats that I had about 10 years ago named Cooper. He could get a little neurotic at times and would want to mark his territory. I had a nice Beard Audio P35 / CA35 combo at the time and it was warming up nicely while I went to make a cuppa. When I came back in the lounge I found a lot of smoke, a nasty smell and about six of the EL84s sizzling and glowing bright orange! Oh, and one very sheepish looking cat - He was lucky he only got my toe up his arse and not a thousand volts!!!
Audio Grail "Sable" Garrard 401 with Cumbrian Green Slate plinth / Audiomods 6 / Soundsmith Zephyr MIMC, Parasound JC3+, NVA INT400sa. (Oh and a Copland CDA823 CD Player, for when I fancy a bit of the devil's spawn!)

In the late 90s, our cat, Custard stepped onto my revolving LP12.
He got the surprise of his life, spinning a couple of times before scrabbling his way off the thing, taking out my cartridge
and causing an almighty screech as stylus scraped record.

He also pissed into my Pretek Powertek combo.

I was not best pleased at the time.
I no longer have the LP12 and the Pretek Powertek was fit only for the tip after he had finished with it.
Maybe he was trying to tell me something.

Here is my wonderful cat Mister Pud. Sadly no longer with us on this earthly plane but there is not a day goes by I do not miss him. At night he would sleep on the bed next to me like a dog:
