WARNING RIP OF CLAYMORE BY BENSLEY
This weekend I was asked to update a Claymore. Unfortunately this Claymore is a copy made by Bensley Electronics, and somehow they are using a rip of Claymore 2 circuit board.
If you are offered one of these beware it is not made by me.

It can be done so imagine it.

Re: WARNING RIP OF CLAYMORE BY BENSLEY
Gone I far as one can tell. Or new name.
How to tell:-
Well these,s guy printed there name on the back, also Money second hand Claymores start from £150 - £400 on E Bay.
And on my circuit board a hide a cryptic messages this has none.
Such has " The Doc is good looking" he he
Also note the un-sleeved transformer wire, not safe enough so I would only do that on Proto Types.
Also the early Claymores PCB layout was done using Chartpack tape not a CAD package like this one. The track are to straight a no curves.
Also the Driver Transistors are wrong type for these FET's so unstable and will burn one day.
And a single Negative wire for speaker, bad practice.
And in this "expensive" amp cheap RS knobs, no way.
Next Emitter Follower Tape Output not a true buffer stage using a Op-amp as in my design, cheap and not fantastic.
And much more a poor copy very poor.

Thanks Colin, even a non techy airhead like me got most of what your posted above,
only identification of Transistors, FET's, Op-amps etc lost me but everything else is pretty obvious.

Long gone days, just to make sure nobody was taken in by these.
It can be done so imagine it.

My memory is fading but wasn't there an argument over who owned the original design and name. You and your partners again.

Re: WARNING RIP OF CLAYMORE BY BENSLEY
Just crap at trusting people I suspect and have been let down again just a few days ago. It must be me.
Using "colin wonfor" ON Google search seems to away take me to a NoName Hifi page on the net.
And after doing lots of thing to help other in the trade and wanting a wee bit of help back I get could a loser by a dealer so called friend.
Doc you are right this so called industry is not for me. Just full of greedy people.
I am out now bye good luck to all who work in the silly game.

Re: WARNING RIP OF CLAYMORE BY BENSLEY
Colin, the answer is to not work with these smooth salesman types and sell direct like the Doc.
